Viral is an Assistant Professor at UIHC who works with cochlear implant patients. His research interests involve cochlear implant psychophysics and electrophysiology as well as clinical outcomes of cochlear implantation. He is an important member of the Iowa Cochlear Implant Grant and has been managing the Electrophysiology Lab at the UIHC since 2013. He also occasionally sees CI patients clinically. Outside of work, Viral enjoys reading books, hiking, working out, running, hanging out in the cornfields with his friends, and the occasional Netflix binge.
